Keri and Karl have dreamed of the life taking shape before them. Their first child is due any day, AND their home is filled with anticipation. Then Keri becomes ill.

What begins as a troubling sickness refuses to loosen its hold. Confined to her bed as the birth of their child draws near, Keri finds herself wrestling with fears she cannot easily silence. Karl carries questions of his own. A visit from the seminary where he hopes to study brings the future suddenly close—and with it, doubts he has tried not to voice.
